AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — The Capital City’s universities, live music scene and great barbeque are losing tourists thanks to some international roadblocks.

ROGERSVILLE — Food, music and classic cars will converge on downtown Rogersville the evening of May 23 as the city plays host to two events to kick off the Memorial Day weekend.

State police responded to a three-vehicle crash that injured one driver on U.S. Routes 220/322 near Clems Barbeque in Worth Township about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The division of Student Life and Administrative Services is holding a “ground-breaking” ceremony May 20 for the new 34th Street residence hall, followed by a barbeque in the walkway between Kelly and Myers halls. “Because it’s a residence hall, the celebration has to involve all students,” Rita LaRue, senior associate vice president for Business Services, said.

On May 24, the National WASP World War II Museum will host its fourth annual homecoming with an open house and barbeque dinner honoring the Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASPs, of World War II. The museum is located off Interstate 20 near Avenger Field in Sweetwater.
